Allergies, Intolerances, Asthma, and Eczema
What are Allergies, Intolerances, Asthma, and Eczema
The Naturopathic approach to allergic (atopic) conditions is multi-pronged. Tanya has significant experience working closely with clients on a range of allergic conditions from asthma in children and adults, to eczema, hay-fever, and food reactions.
Allergies are most certainly on the increase in developed countries and include environmental or inhalant allergies that may include dust, mold, pollens, animal dander and more plus food allergies and chemical sensitivities to synthetic substances, preservatives, household cleaning products to name a few. These are IgE reactions to substances.
Food intolerances are not allergies, and neither is non allergic rhinitis, however symptoms can be very similar.
Treating Allergies, Intolerances, Asthma, and Eczema
Tanya’s approach to these conditions is a thorough one to determine why an individual’s body is over-reacting to a particular substance and mistakenly interpreting it as a threat to the body. Tanya looks at many factors including genetics, past health history, digestive health, immune health, detoxification, diet, stress and more to uncover the main causes and triggers for each person.
Whilst Tanya uses beautiful herbs, dietary advice and strategies to reduce symptoms, long term treatment of an allergic condition requires a more comprehensive approach in treating the underlying causes.
